WBF-Türkiye XI. Traditional Backgammon Championship

The 11th WBF-Türkiye Traditional Backgammon Championship was held in Istanbul on 8–9 September 2007. The main event drew 113 players, and the weekend also included a consulting doubles event, an Arena side event and a ladies' prize. The championship was organised by the WBF-Türkiye Modern Tavla Organisation, with Arda Fındıkoğlu, the WBF Türkiye agent, as director.

The weekend belonged to Hamza Nar from Izmir. He won the main event and the 2007 Turkish Traditional Backgammon title, receiving his trophy from the previous champion, Zafer Tas. He also won the Arena and reached the final of the doubles.

• Champion: Hamza Nar – Izmir

• 3rd place: Kursad Solak – Ankara
• 4th place: Hakan Celik – Kdz.Eregli
• "First Day" winner: Burhanettin Sinanmis – Istanbul

• Champions: Abdullah Sorguven / Suleyman Sahin – Istanbul
• Finalists: Cagla Sen / Hamza Nar – Izmir
• Semi-finalists: Anil Serin / Ayhan Serin – Istanbul

Arena (306 tries)

• Champion: Hamza Nar – Izmir
• Finalist: Ulvi Cangazi – Istanbul
• Semi-finalists: Ozcan Koker – Istanbul, Cevat Araz – Istanbul

Ladies' prize (12 players)

• First place: Sevinc Kurtoglu – Kdz.Eregli
• Second place: Sevil Karakan – Istanbul

Tournament committee

The committee was chaired by Arda Fındıkoğlu. Its members were Abdullah Sorgüven (Istanbul), Ayhan Serin (Istanbul), Haluk Yorgancioglu (Istanbul) and Hamza Nar (Izmir).
